How to Visit:

Well, the Langham Hotel here in Melbourne is located on Southgate Avenue at Southbank, right on the river – a beautiful spot. It’s a 50-minute drive from the airport and only a 6-minute walk from Flinders Street Station. I booked this hotel on booking.com at a very good price, and I believe it’s maybe because it was out of season.

What you need for eat:

As you can see, it’s a wonderful amenity setup. You’ve got a jug, a coffee machine, and a coffee percolator, all with fresh ground coffee or pods for the coffee machine. You can choose either. Yep, there’s a question mark, but I wouldn’t pay $12 for water. However, there’s also the Langham water, which they offer to you every time you go somewhere. It’s free, of course, and it will be replenished in your room when it’s made up.

The coffee station has everything in the drawers – coffee, tea, cups, food, wine. Of course, you have to pay for all of this, except for the coffee. A few spirits are there if you’re feeling like a drink, and there’s a fully stocked fridge, which is always nice. Lots of room in these rooms, too. There’s a desk in case you’re doing some work.

Room details:

That king-size bed was really comfortable, and there’s a large TV screen, too. I didn’t use it much because, honestly, I went to Melbourne to see Melbourne, but I do love a good hotel, and Langham really hit the spot. I was very, very impressed. As I said, this is just the basic room, but you can see there’s plenty of room.

They also came to the room with a trolley for anything you might need. I love these old-style touches, like the coat rack for your coat or shirt, or whatever you might need. They have umbrellas and plenty of space to hang things. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful – it had a bath, which many people like in hotels. I do, and this one had it. Again, everything was sensational – plenty of creams, bubbles, and everything you need for your shower or bath.

The bathroom had beautiful, spotless marble, bathrobes, and slippers – a classic five-star touch. So, apart from everything I’ve mentioned, this is basically a really comfortable, relaxing room.

What to do things

As you can see, it’s a little bit quirky. It’s also pet-friendly, so if you’ve got your dog, you can bring him along. A beautiful, beautiful hotel. Of course, this is a five-star hotel. Let’s just take a look at the inside. You go up these glorious escalators – I’ve never said that escalators were glorious before, but in this case, they are. The interior of the Langham is just sensational, and that telephone box has history behind it because Langham is originally from London.

There are beautiful stairs again, and all the corridors and hallways are adorned with beautiful artwork and lounges. It’s comfortable, super clean, and just fantastic. But now, let’s take a look at the rooms. I stayed three nights here at the Langham, and I chose the basic room, which is actually a superior room. It has a king-size bed, and although it doesn’t face the river, that was fine by me

because, honestly, I wasn’t in my room that much. But I tell you, the times I was there were fantastic.
Now, let’s move on to dining. The only time I dined at Langham was for breakfast, which is typical for me, especially when I’m traveling solo and have a lot of writing to do. But this was sensational. This is a Melbourne Restaurant, which looks out onto the river. I had breakfast here. When this place is full, it holds 200 people. Breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m., and then they set up for lunch. They also have a buffet at lunchtime, but I’m just showing you the breakfast offerings, and I don’t think anyone could get through all of this.

There was an amazing variety on the hot bar, and things were also cooked à la carte for you. They had Asian dishes, sweets, savory options, both hot and cold, and cold meats and salads. You can see the fruit, and they even had chocolate ganache to dip your fruit in – I’m not sure if that’s a breakfast thing, but apparently, it is at Melbourne’s.

There were plenty of yogurt options, cheeses, and the salad I mentioned. Of course, there were pastries, jams, and honey from South Australia. I visited the honey factory there, so it’s great to see it featured.

And yes, if you want to treat yourself, there was even champagne for breakfast! You could grab that if you wish. Then, there were the basic options – eggs, hash browns, and of course, pancakes, waffles, and crepes made to order. I think you’d need breakfast to be served until 11:00 a.m. to get through everything!

Now, let me take you on a little journey inside this beautiful five-star hotel in Melbourne.

Here we have the ARA Bar and Lounge, with a beautiful ambiance and personalized service, which I received as soon as I sat down. It’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and they also serve Langham’s afternoon tea. You can see there – swish! I would have loved that, but it’s not something I do solo. I’d rather have at least one more person or a group of people. The afternoon tea is served from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day. However, be warned, it will set you back $98 per person, or $128 with top champagne.

The Langham also boasts a spa, a fitness center, and a swimming pool, along with a little shop featuring the Langham’s signature scent. You’ll always know it’s the Langham, thanks to the pink car, pink bike, and the sensational service you receive from the front door until it’s time to leave.

You can book a winter stay here in Melbourne on Booking.com – $749 for the room I was in for three nights. But wait, wait, wait – before you tell me the Quantas price is too expensive, for only $1 more, you can book through the Quantas site and receive three points per dollar.
